Because, although Formentera is small and can be travelled from end to end in a single day,
that is not the best way to enjoy everything it has to offer.

You should, ideally, get to know some of the best places but with time enough for you to crate

1. Car
If you want to travel comfortably with your family, especially with children, it is essential to
rent a car.

Also, if you have not previously driven motorcycles or you are not very skilled on two
wheels, the car option is recommended. Bear in mind that in high season there are quite a
few more accidents due to the increase of vehicles on the island and the inexperience of
some drivers.

2. Scooter
Traveling by motorcycle on the island in midsummer is a very pleasant feeling. The feeling
of freedom and connection to the island when you go on a scooter is wonderful.

For couples or friends, who are skillful drivers, it is probably the best option to discover the
island, since it allows you to go everywhere.

3. Bicycle
A bike is the cheapest option but unless you have strong legs it won’t take you very far.

However discovering Formentera on a bike is pure happiness. The road from La Savina to
Illetas is a good option for those who visit the island for only one day and want to enjoy a
day of sun, sand and beach.

And if what you want is to rest completely, even of driving, what you can do is find your
accommodation in a very tourist area. For example, in Es Pujols you have all the necessary
services to spend a few days of sun and beach without having to move from the town.

Only then you would miss discovering other villages and other beautiful corners of the island.
