Defense towers: They were built in the 18th century to guard against possible pirate incursions that constantly plundered the Mediterranean coast. Located in strategic geographical points and at sufficient distance to communicate through smoke signals, even with Ibiza.
Mills: One of the most curious architectural elements that we find in the landscape of Formentera are the windmills used to grind grain, wheat, being a staple food, was very important on the island.
