2019 is starting strong and if you are an athlete and also a nature lover, it’s time to visit our island.

Various events are organized in Formentera throughout the year that extend the island far beyond summer and beaches to other options besides just leisure.

In this post you will find some of the most outstanding sporting events that have already been confirmed, but many more are held throughout the year.

These are the sports events that are not to be missed:

MARCH

On March 2nd , one of the best races in Formentera is celebrated. You choose the distance to run.

72,5 km – La Savina – La Savina

Formentera Half Round Trail 2019
40 km – Es Arenals – La Savina
Departure time 11:30 h

Tros de FART 2019
21 km – Caló St. Agustí – La Savina

Arrival deadline 5:00 p.m.

MAY

Formentera Half Marathon + 8 Km

These two races are held on May 11th, 2019 for a maximum of 2,000 runners in the 21km race and 1,000 runners in the 8 km, for all levels.

There is so much demand to participate in these races that each year the organization has to draw the available inscriptions.  Good luck if you want to participate!

XI Formentera to run 2019

Held from May 26 to June 2, 2019 in Formentera.

It is a race in stages with a total distance of approximately 65 km. Subdivided into 5 stages of around 9, 10, 13, 10 and 21 Km.

OCTOBER

Cycling tour of Formentera

We still don’t know the exact dates of the next edition, we’ll have to be on the watch out.

The race consists of three stages and in addition to the tour of the island – 11 kilometres and 1168 meters of accumulated altitude – the BTT La Mola, suitable for all publics, is also celebrated – 37.6 kilometres and 850 metres of altitude difference.

Practicing sport in a natural environment Formentera’s is a privilege for the senses. Can you imagine running a marathon or taking a bike route in a paradisiacal setting?
