In this life there are two kinds of people: those who have been to Formentera, and those who haven\u2019t. This post is for both and we\u2019ll be sharing some tips on the best ways to visit, or better said, tour, this wonderful mediterranean island. We recommend you start thinking about renting a car or a scooter, not because we make a living out of it, but because it is the only way to tour the island.<\/p>\n
Formentera is a very small and very beautiful island, it is a truly special island that surprises and delights every visitor that arrives by ferry from Ibiza in half or three quarters of an hour.<\/p>\n
The island of Formentera, around eighty-three square meters, is mostly flat with the main height being less than 200 metres. Surrounded by coves and beaches described by some(with reason) as “paradise” that little have to envy those attractive caribbean beaches we see in brochures with clear turquoise waters and white sand.<\/p>\n
The second thing to is to see where you\u2019re staying and how to get there if you\u2019re staying overnight or where the harbour is if you plan to go on a one day visit.<\/p>\n
If you want to tour Formentera, it is best to rent a car or a motorbike<\/strong>, and if you come in high season do book in advance<\/strong>, don\u2019t leave it until last minute even if it\u2019s only for one day, you wouldn’t be the first person to be left without a vehicle and to have to look for other options like renting a bike, which might be fun if you\u2019re looking for sport or adventure but not if you\u2019re not\u2026<\/p>\n Any car is suitable to tour the island, it mostly depends on your plans and where you\u2019re staying, rent a car that suits your needs, we have all classes and all colours =)<\/p>\n If you come from Ibiza to visit Formentera and you\u2019ve rented a car or a motorbike there, do read the fine print and check to be sure the insurance covers you in Formentera since most insurance only the island where you rent so if you\u2019re unlucky enough to have some mishap and you\u2019re not covered you\u2019ll have to cover all the expenses as well as the cost of bringing the car back to the island of origin.<\/p>\n Choosing a car or a motorbike or even a bicycle depends on you and your preferences.
